Well, well, here I am, fresh into the blogging world. I figure I'd start off by introducing myself and give this site a test drive. I'm Shellene, your typical (by my standards anyway) girl next door. I'm a mom of a spunky 11 yr old and two spoiled rotten dogs, my 4yr old boxer, Appollo, who at this very moment is begging for my attention, and the new addition to my little family, Puggles, the pug.
I'm survival of one nasty divorce, to which I came in second. Gotta love the legal system, I was forced to be a stay-at-home mom for a decade to an alcoholic and mentally abusive husband and yet was awarded only 50% custody of my son and NO alimony. Go figure.
I moved back to Clarksville TN simply because that's the only way I could have my 50% custody. I haven't yet made many friends here, but I have tried to get involved in the community. Before, I was active in community theatre and hosted foreign exchange students. Here, there is no community theatre and I don't have the space or money for exchange students, so I've taken on the task of fostering large dogs for the Humane Society as well as a couple other rescue groups. I love the volunteering and it makes me feel really good, but sometimes it has it's problems to say the least.
But more on that later. When I'm not at home in front of my computer screen, you can easily find me at a local Wendy's, where I work part time or at one of the large book stores, adding to my ever-growing collection of books ranging in every subject that has ever captured a glimpse of interest from me. There's always a good bet on the local Starbucks or Bookstore coffee shop......as most actors, I LOVE a good cup of coffee whilst I people watch, making up crazy stories about each and every one for my own amusement. I'm kind of hard to miss, I'm tall with long red hair and bright blue eyes equipped with a sharp wit and easy smile, so if you ever are out and about and happen to see me, go ahead and say hi, I'd love to meet ya!
Til then! Ciao for now :)
